We’re excited to share our latest study, now published in Ecological Economics. The research investigates how a "nudge" intervention in a grocery store impacts the purchase of more sustainable protein options, such as fish over red meat. The study looked at data over 43 days and 59,000 sales, the findings reveal that while the nudge had limited impact, factors like values, habits, attitudes, and price strongly influence protein choices.
These insights highlight the challenges of promoting sustainable consumption and the importance of habit-breaking for effective interventions.
